It has been enforced by notification dt. 14.09.99 of MOEF to utilize fly ash, bottom ash, pond ash for manufacturing of clay bricks with in radius of 50 KMS from coal or lignite based thermal power plant. Industries Department had amended comprehensive policy through a resolution dt. 22 –05- 98 stipulating a ban of manufacturing conventional clay bricks within 70 Kms. Radius of thermal power plants besides several incentive to brick manufactures

1.Incentive to Fly ash Brick Manufactures

2.Supply of fly ash by thermal power plants free of cost for 20 Years

3. Land for setting up fly ash bricks to be provided by the thermal power plants

4. Exemption of electricity duties for a period of 5 years

5.Non applicability of maximum ceiling limit for availing exemption of sales tax(V) fly ash ased manufacturing units should be considered under the category of "Priority of Industries irrespective of investment.
